JigSaw
Jigsaw is a powerful and fun-to-use Windows
program that enables you to find the connecting links in large or small groups
of horoscopes. It also includes a free collection of over 2,000 celebrity
charts.
Pricing can be found at the end of the page.
Family Patterns is an exciting new way of doing multi-chart synastry. It takes any group of people or events that have something in common, and displays their charts on the screen side by side in linear rather than circular form. This immediately lets you see what degrees are shared by the charts.
You can draw a line through any degree to see what all the charts have on that degree, or highlight any planet or midpoint to see where it falls in each of the charts. You can also instantly change the harmonic of the charts to see the various kinds of inter-aspects or harmonic patterns within the group. Plus, you can view any chart in wheel form.
The program will also manually search for family patterns, using whatever harmonics, planets, midpoints or degrees you specify. It then quickly displays the patterns it finds in easy-to-read circular diagrams.
You'll be amazed to see how the purpose of the group is shown astrologically, and how the different individuals link into the group dynamic!
Rectification elaborates on the Graphic Rectification system pioneered by Bernadette Brady. You start by inputting the birth date with a range of possible birth times, and give the program a dozen or more timed or untimed life events. The program then displays graphs showing how often each degree was hit by the transits for these events. Taking the peaks in these graphs, the program tries them out as possible Ascendants and MCs for the place of birth. Finally, it lets you recheck the life history against these possible charts, letting you judge transits to the possible chart angles according to the type of event.
An additional dynamic chart view displays the proposed natal chart in wheel form so you can watch the transiting planets move around it as you run it forward in time. You can run it fast or slow, and can stop the motion at any point to examine the transits in detail.
Even if you know the birth time, the rectification module can tell you much about how a chart responds to transits. It can also help you make minor adjustments to a known birth time so as to improve the accuracy of forecasts.
Research brings unprecedented ease to searching large groups of charts for a wide variety of astrological factors. These include all types of zodiac divisions (from hemispheres and polarities down to degrees); all kinds of house divisions; Gauquelin sectors; aspects and harmonics; dignities; and coordinate systems (including latitude, RA, declination, altitude and azimuth). You can also add up to 50 extra points (eclipses, fixed stars, important degrees, etc.) to the standard chart points and 7 major asteroids.
Whatever you specify, you get an instantaneous graphic display of results. Bar or polar graphs let you see in a flash whether the effect is worth pursuing, and tables give exact figures. Plus, you can click on any part of a graph or table for an instant chi-square evaluation.
For all the charts in a large database, you can easily change the zodiac (tropical or any sidereal), house system (nine, plus equal from any point), node (mean or true) or coordinate system (geo or helio). You can generate matched or random control groups, and can separate specific charts (like all with Mars in Aries, etc.) into separate data files for further study.
Here as in all other parts of JigSaw you can keep a file of notes associated with each project you do. You can also make permanent, high-resolution printouts of all the charts, tables, graphs and diagrams, either for a personal record of research or for articles and research papers.
Though JigSaw's three sections are each designed primarily for certain tasks, you can use any chart file in any section. In fact, you can study a database in one section, and then do additional analysis in another.
Easy Data Entry. You can enter birth data directly into JigSaw or import charts from Solar Fire, Blue*Star, QuickCharts, or any program in the Nova System, including the Blackwell and Mackey-Saunders Data Collections and (through its Nova importer) the CCRS Horoscope Program.
Non-Intimidating Instructions. Besides on-screen explanations of each program option, there's a thorough, picture-filled manual that explains research principles as well as how to use the program.
With its ultra-clear graphic displays and easy Windows operation, JigSaw makes astrological research not only quick, but extremely enjoyable and rewarding.
